The members of Sinopec Canada's senior management team bring with them decades of experience in all aspects of oil and natural gas operations, corporate management and business plan execution. In particular, the management team has longstanding personal familiarity and a track record of success in the geological and geographical location of Sinopec Canada's key producing assets.

Feng Zhiqiang | Chairman

Mr. Feng is Chairman of Sinopec Canada.  He has been working in the oil and gas industry since 1988.  Mr. Feng was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Sinopec International Petroleum Exploration and Production Corporation (SIPC) on September 25, 2014, and was previously Executive Vice President of SIPC from February 2012.  He is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Geneva-headquartered Addax Petroleum, also a Sinopec subsidiary.  Prior to joining SIPC, Mr. Feng worked for China National Petroleum Corporation(CNPC)in Daqing Oilfield from July 1988 to February 2012, and was Executive Vice President of Daqing Oilfield from November 2005 to February 2012. Mr. Feng holds a PHD Degree from the University of Reading, UK.

Brian Tuffs | Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Tuffs joined Sinopec Canada in February 2012.  He was appointed Chief Executive Officer in October 2014, and previously served as Executive Vice President, Business Development and Exploration.  Prior to, Mr. Tuffs was a Principal and Head of Acquisitions and Divestitures at Peters & Co. Limited, a private investment bank specializing in the energy industry.  From 2000 to 2010, Mr. Tuffs held management positions of increasing responsibility at Encana and predecessor Alberta Energy Corporation and from 1994 to 2000, he was a senior technical professional and manager at Norcen Energy Limited (a public oil and gas company).  Mr. Tuffs holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Newcastle upon-Tyne and a Masters Degree in Geology from the University of Saskatchewan.

Hansheng Mou | Executive Vice President

Mr. Mou joined Sinopec Canada in June 2015 as Executive Vice President.  Previously, he held the position of Chief Executive Officer of Oudeh Petroleum Company and Vice President of Sinopec Regional Company for West Asia and North Africa.  He has been in the Oil & Gas sector with SIPC since 1989 holding increasingly responsible positions throughout his career.  He received his PhD Structure Geology from the Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2008, his Master of Mineral Resource Prospecting and Exploration from China University of Petroleum in 2002 and his Bachelor of Oil & Gas Geology from the China University of Petroleum in 1989.

Derek McCoubrey | Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

Mr. McCoubrey joined Sinopec Canada's predecessor in May 2011 as Vice President, Greater Pembina and was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in October 2012. In 1996, Mr. McCoubrey began his career with Encana Corporation (including predecessor PanCanadian Petroleum) as a Professional Engineer. From 2005 to 2011, Mr. McCoubrey progressed naturally to various management roles at Encana Corporation. Mr. McCoubrey holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Dalhousie University and Bachelor of Engineering Degree from the Technical University of Nova Scotia. Mr. McCoubrey is a Professional Engineer with APEGA.

Lydia Li | Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Appointed as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Sinopec Canada in July 2015, Ms. Li is an experienced financial executive with extensive oil and gas experience. Ms. Li joined Sinopec International Petroleum Exploration and Production Corporation (SIPC) in July 2004 and served in a number of roles within the SIPC Group, including various senior financial roles in SIPC Kazakhstan from August 2004 to March 2007 and Managing Director of Sinopec Oil & Gas Australia Pty Ltd from April 2007 to December 2014. Ms. Li holds a Bachelor degree in Enterprises Management from Central University of Finance and Economics, Beijing and a Master degree in Applied Finance from University of Melbourne.

Jim Broughton | Executive Vice President, Corporate Development

 

Mr. Broughton was appointed as Executive Vice President, Corporate Development in February 2016. As a professional engineer with over 30 years of experience in all aspects of petroleum engineering, Jim brings extensive knowledge to the executive team. In 1984, Mr. Broughton began his career as a reservoir engineer at Petro Canada and in 1989, Jim moved to POCO Petroleums and then on to a number of progressively smaller companies including Tarragon Oil & Gas, Ventus Energy, and Vaquero Energy. Mr. Broughton joined Highphine, one of Sinopec Canada’s predecessor companies in 2009. Since that time, he has held positions of increasing responsibility at both the senior technical and executive levels in Sinopec Canada. A graduate of the University of Tulsa, Mr. Broughton holds a Bachelor degree in Petroleum Engineering and is a member of APEGA.
