The members of Sinopec Canada's senior management team bring with them decades of experience in all aspects of oil and natural gas operations, corporate management and business plan execution. In particular, the management team has longstanding personal familiarity and a track record of success in the geological and geographical location of Sinopec Canada's key producing assets.

Feng Zhiqiang | Chairman

Mr. Feng is Chairman of Sinopec Canada.  He has been working in the oil and gas industry since 1988.  Mr. Feng was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Sinopec International Petroleum Exploration and Production Corporation (SIPC) on September 25, 2014, and was previously Executive Vice President of SIPC from February 2012.  He is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Geneva-headquartered Addax Petroleum, also a Sinopec subsidiary.  Prior to joining SIPC, Mr. Feng worked for China National Petroleum Corporation(CNPC)in Daqing Oilfield from July 1988 to February 2012, and was Executive Vice President of Daqing Oilfield from November 2005 to February 2012. Mr. Feng holds a PHD Degree from the University of Reading, UK.

Zhang Lianhua | Vice Chairman and Executive Director

Mr. Zhang is Vice Chairman and Executive Director of Sinopec Canada.  He was President of Sinopec Canada Energy Ltd. from June 2010 until December 2013. He has been working in the oil and gas industry since 1989, beginning with the Ministry of Land and Resources in Beijing from 1989 to 1997, as Senior Geologist. Mr. Zhang was Director of Lease and Reserves with China National Star Petroleum Corporation from October 1997 to March 2000 and with Sinopec National Star Petroleum Corporation from March 2000 to August 2003. He was Chief Legal Officer of Sinopec International Petroleum Exploration and Production Corporation (SIPC) from August 2003 to June 2010.  Mr. Zhang holds degrees in geology and law, as well as an EMBA from the University of Houston.

Brian Tuffs | Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Tuffs joined Sinopec Canada in February 2012.  He was appointed Chief Executive Officer in October 2014, and previously served as Executive Vice President, Business Development and Exploration.  Prior to, Mr. Tuffs was a Principal and Head of Acquisitions and Divestitures at Peters & Co. Limited, a private investment bank specializing in the energy industry.  From 2000 to 2010, Mr. Tuffs held management positions of increasing responsibility at Encana and predecessor Alberta Energy Corporation and from 1994 to 2000, he was a senior technical professional and manager at Norcen Energy Limited (a public oil and gas company).  Mr. Tuffs holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Newcastle upon-Tyne and a Masters Degree in Geology from the University of Saskatchewan.

Derek McCoubrey | Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

Mr. McCoubrey joined Sinopec Canada's predecessor in May 2011 as Vice President, Greater Pembina and was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in October 2012. In 1996, Mr. McCoubrey began his career with Encana Corporation (including predecessor PanCanadian Petroleum) as a Professional Engineer. From 2005 to 2011, Mr. McCoubrey progressed naturally to various management roles at Encana Corporation. Mr. McCoubrey holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Dalhousie University and Bachelor of Engineering Degree from the Technical University of Nova Scotia. Mr. McCoubrey is a Professional Engineer with APEGA.

Jim Broughton | Senior Vice President, Corporate Planning

Jim is a professional engineer with over 30 years of experience in all aspects of petroleum engineering. He graduated from the University of Tulsa in 1984 and started his career as a reservoir engineer at Petro Canada. In 1989, Jim moved to POCO Petroleums and then on to a number of progressively smaller companies including Tarragon Oil & Gas, Ventus Energy, Vaquero Energy and Highpine Oil & Gas. In 2009 Highpine was acquired by Daylight Energy and then in 2011 Daylight was acquired by Sinopec. Currently Jim is Senior Vice President of Corporate Planning for Sinopec Canada.
